Nope he's not having a laugh, just a quick giggle. the axle doesnt need to come out but the diff will need to be dropped to replace the bit that splits into left/right, the fuel tak has to come out too iirc...

not a fun job

You don't have to remove the fuel tank but you may have to drop the subframe if your brake lines are in a bad way.

Mine were so rusted I had to cut them off, luckily I had the subframe off to do all the bushes so had plenty of access.

Very rusty:

Any lines like that will be an MoT failure at a reputable garage, if anyones are like that I suggest replacing as many as possible at the same time.

Brake pipe is about £2 a metre and the ends are about £1 each. It is just the flaring that you need a tool for, and the time taken to replace them.

The Goodridge kits have everything you need to fit them BUT please make sure you get the correct kit !, the Goodridge kit description is wrong.

If you have rear drum brakes you need the 4 line kit, if you have rear disc brakes you need the 6 line kit regardless of whether you have ABS or not
