ok stasted reassemblng engine today and it seems there is a hole half way down the cylinder number one near the water pump impellor shaft. it has not gone the full distance about half way and because it has gone half way down the mechanic has suggested it may be worth using somw liquid metal on it?

sorry my post is not that clear - okay....
there is only one hole, it can be seen making its way to number one cylkinder if you look into the waterpump access in the block
because it is just this one hole and it is not actually travel from the cylinder out but from the block into the cylinder we are wondering can we stuff it with liquid metal?
ahhh
thats better
i hope!

if your sure its not meant to be there, i cant be sure without photo but have seen this part you talk about plenty of times, but JB weld will hold on to it fine if you lightly grind the area around it back to metal with a dremel, i doubt it will last that long if you just put it ontop of rust/scale
