Do any of you fine men(and women!) know if the electric aerial on the rear wing is still available from the main stealers? (any idea of price?),or know any alternative sources for a new one,as ive scoured the scrapyards near here and not to be found! :x

Try Euro Car Parts, they sell them. You should be able to get Hirshman and Beru brand ariels for the E30 from any good autofactors.

BMW Main stealers do still do them, but make sure you are sitting down when they tell you the price!!!!

65.22.1.381.333 Antenna (The motor) Ԛ£89.37 +VAT.
65.22.1.058.339 Fitting kit and leads Ԛ£21.28 +VAT.

So thats Ԛ£110+vat in all. NICE!

They are better than the GSF ones tho, as i ordered one and sent it back coz it felt cheap.

Sorry for the threaad hijack but the cable on my antenna broke (I think) and the thing just flopped about when it was raised so I've no aerial atm. The motor still works 'cos I can hear it when I turn on the stereo but what I'd like to know is if the antenna is ok to refit or if some bit of the cable broke or just 'undid' itself ?
Also, (and this is the main point) How do I go about reconnecting the antenna (old or new) to the motor? Does anyone have a write-up?

Thx,
Pat.

attatched to the aerial cable behind the trim you should find a cylindrical joint which should unscrew, and the new aerial should just screw on,all being well(probably not tho, sods law!)
