Off to Gaydon. Prime mission is to find some 18" rims to replace the existing 16's I have. It's cheaper to do this than to just replace the 16" tyres...!

So, what do I go for...? Here are some options...

Existing 16's:

Image

Option 1: second hand 18" Schnitzer replicas with used tyres... £550

Image

Option 2: brand new 18" M5 replicas with new tyres... £565

Image

I really want some 18" M parallels... but they're £750 for replicas.... bit too much for me to be honest.

Any other ideas...?

The offset of E36 rims is wrong, as is the centre bore... and 17" isn't really big enough.

Dips... seen the 18" Type 5's on Ebay... bit pricey without tyres though... looking at £600 max.

I'm assuming you all know I was after OEM style wheels... no aftermarket style rubbish...

Hap... yeah, I'd love that, but budget constraints mean that's a no-no for the time being. I'm stretching it getting tyres for the bloody thing!

It needs a £2k re-spray, replacement springs and new tyres, along with new bushes... think it'll be easier just to move it on and get another E30! Depends on what bargains there are to be had at Gaydon... winkeye

Leave it standard and sell it, 'wog wheels' won't add £1 to the value and will compromise the ride. Put a big for sale sign in the window at gaydon and hopefully some council type with illusions of grandeur will get his bag of green shield stamps out ! :)

Pete... I'm going to do just that.

I'm just confused.

Maybe I'm tired.

You're right though... why spend money on it if I don't really want to keep it anymore?

Anyone want a 'nice' E38 728i...?

God, I'm so easily influenced.

Window stickers will be in for Gaydon.

Either I sell it, or buy a replacement set of wheels for her. (those 20" Alpinas do look rather tasty, but they're way above the £600 spend limit!)

Schnitzer type 2's would be my choice mate - bigger the better!

If your thinking of selling theres no point in getting new rims tho mate - they wont add value and may restrict your market when you come to sell.

you want some 3 spokes on G, then take a trip across to Hull and find the nastiest council estate (not difficult) and watch them kill each other for it :D

M para's if you keep it or as mentioned if you are selling don't waste the money.

And 18's (although well priced nowadays) won't really do the job on a 7 imo. 19" and 20" m parallel reps are available albeit for a larger budget.
