engine cuts out?

started the engine up for the first time yesterday and a bit of trouble, went from a 2.0 to a 2.5, when you let the revs off the car cuts out?
could it be air flow meter or ecu maybe?

Fuel Pressure Regulator, It sits on top of the Fuel injector rail, near the Thermostat housing.

Dose you engine cough and spluter untils it dies or is it sudden death ?

2-5 afm, intake and fuel rail ??

if thats not the case, find em dude, you're gonna need them

engine earth strap refitted ok ?

all electrics correctly connected ( check under intake as ususal )

Ecu , well if you had a 172, them its the same basic unit as the 173/380/382 etc etc so as long as it has a 325 chip inside should run ok

can you get the engine to run OK if you hold the revs up ? possibly may be as simple as the ECU has yet to kick back into life, they all idle badly for a few days post battery disconnection.

Yes......the ECU still thinks its trying to run a M20B20.

will a zone chip solve this? is there that much difference between the engines then?
seems to good to be true just changing taht over and it running fine?

there are some big differneces between the 2.0 & 2.5.

Some of the 2.0 engines dont have an ICV, but a vacum thingy to contro idle. the 2.5 Should have the ICV but the 2.0 chip cant control it, hence no idle.
