Is it possible to re-chrome it, or should I look round the scrappies for another one?

The trim around my front windscreen has faded from chrome to a horrible clear plastic colour.

Yes,
I swaped the faded chrome one on my other convertible for a black one, which I think looks far better, even on a chrome car. I got the auto windscreen guy to change it over during the windscreen change. He had all the right tools for the job. This little hook tool, nice instrument of torture.
Cheers Gareth.

Cheers, I was hoping it would be easier than taking the windsreen out!
I actually wondered if the chrome strip peels off as it looks separate to the seal

Dont need to remove the screen to change the trim , just the handy little tool to refit it!!

Demonbiker is correct. You dont have to remove the screen. The trim fits into the gasket around the window and it would be a tuff job without the little hook tool.
Cheers Gareth.

Easiest thing is go to a window fitting company - with new trim and ask them to fit it should only take 5 mins with the tool!!
or try snap on or such like.
