im having some trouble with my car, if i accelerate to hard i get what feels like pre ignition :s its asthough i've slammed the breaks on for a split second and the car lurches horribly, at first i thought it was pre ignition but i cant hear any pinking whatsoever which would suggest otherwise, i've retarded the ignition timing and its stopped but the engine now feels quite sluggish?
any ideas?

hey dude, welcome to the forum

to get a better response its probably a good idea to put up what model and engine you have.

the more info you can give, the quicker a soloution could be found

have you checked to see if the advance mech in the dizzy is OK ?

remove dizzy cap and see if you can move the rotor arm around a bit, you should be able to see the advance mech @ the base of the rotor shaft move in and out on a spring.

keep us posted dude.
