Managed to get some Bottletops of Ian so i could finaly take the cab out for a decent run..was about 30 mins in all.. wheels server there purpose till my Keskins arrive..

Drive was exellent..no dodgy noises etc

Spins up real quick @2k and pulls like a train till 5.5k then starts to drop off, most of my driving was through the country though i did join the M-way at one point and made a b-line to floor it in 4th till the limiter kicked in..i was doing 115mph in no-time... i know its a smallish turbo but that thing is Rapiiiid!!

Dont even wanna know how much juice i just caned but its aint my daily drive so i dont give a S$$!! .

If my Guage is accurate then im touching 7Psi.. looking forward to the MS install and maybe pushing it up a bit but TBH im more than happy with the results i got now..would love to dyno it just to see..

Only Downside was when i got home on eof my fan blades was enbedded into the radiator!! ..dont ask how or why.. il look into that tomoz

ATM though i think my IC is pushing my rad in slightly..hope i can sort it outherwise i guess i gota lose the fan and get an electric in there..though im trying real hard to keep everything looking normal as best i can..

:)

Just found a nice lil oil leak too.dozen drops in 10 mins so it needs to get sorted..stopped now as oil cools but as i got more oil pressure going on its aggrevated it..

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do ... g=11&fg=10
Items 9-11 that fkin pipe..found the o-ring sat next to it :-x ..i had this out when i removed the manifold to paint it up.. tis a right PITA if i remember to line up the oring and washer when inserting the pipe

got to be that as everywhere else looks dry...Blx!

Apart from taking the orig AFM pipe of and TPS etc to free up some room to get to it anyone know an easy way to get this 0-ring inplace,il get a new one from the stealers too...

Oh and my clutch is making noises too..bearings maybe? quiet when engaged though...usual stuff :) any recomendations while im there,if i gota replace anything clutch related what shall i use etc?

cheers

EDIT: fook i just relaized that the maifold has to be undone and lifted away to get pipe to lift out :( tis the only way to get that oring on the pipe..pipe wont lift as the maifold is holding it down:(

Ther worst pissing job bar scraping sump gasket off and i gota do it again just to put an o-ring inplace..

When you trying to put the maifold back into place you gota do it with one hand as your outher is holding the pipe inplace which you gota conpress the spring with it too...truly sux

Yea they are shot.. didnt think of that, had the engine hoisted too while we played with the sump  .. shoulda done it then, engine's leaning into the rad basically then.

Got any ideas on this o-ring buisness? really hope i can get round it without taking the dam maifold off again

i think if you butter the o ring up with a load of vaseline it holds it in place a bit more, there is a spring in there too isn't there, can that be compressed down with a plastic tie-wrap and then cut when it's all in place?

Yea.was doing that the first time TBH.. something changed though but cant remember what..either way i found an O-ring next to the pipe so i fooked up...got a feeling i had it on wrong anyway..O-ring goes first then the washer according to the OEM pic..

Apart from a few teething problems sounds like it is going well Carl, I have to now keep opening my window on my s4 to hear the turbo because i miss the noise of your cab

I bet I know exactly where the oil leak is coming from, i'll have a look into some nice braided hose, that would look mint and not leak for you. Perhaps the next step?

Have you got the downpipe wrapped up yet? Oh and the zone demands some pictures I think.

That manifold is a pain in the arse, I think it does have to come off to replace those three things, oh well something to keep you away from the other half on a sunday

Glad you are getting to use it now, makes all the effort worthwhile.

Hi Jon,

Yea i got no leaks ATM from any plumbing so thats good but i will tidy it up at a later date..TBH the small area of copper pipeing is not really visible anyway as we took care of that on the day when we replaced certain parts..

Yup E.Manifold was wrapped yesterday..looks good

Things to do now:

Replace the engine mounts ASAP as they do need replacing and that could be the reason why i had fan blades enbedded in the rad yesterday once i had engine movement..this needs to be done pronto

AND this O-ring needs to be sorted too to stop this oil leak which is messing up the underside of my car..and i cant have that..

That lil 4th gear conversation we had, you should of been there bud you would of been impressed..looking forward to getting these 2 jobs done now, getting my new rims on and driving this setup without the roof on

Take care m8..

Oh let me know if you find any suitable hoses..you know the setup/sizes :)

I will post pics ASAP but i want my rims on too so i can do another decent shoot of the car..

Lil update though..

Sorted the leak out and changed the Engine mounts.took it for a spin and no blades in the rad syndrome which was good...so everything looks ok now,no probs

But Fek me! that thing can drink fuel...serioulsy!

put 15 quids worth of super in 99p a ltr.. dont get me wrong i was thrashing the crap outa it for the most part but ive done 30-35 miles and im back to where i started fuel wise .. all guessing but i know im not far off,tis just vanished!

Those 3.5 injectors are just chucking it in..no way in hell could i justify that sort of cost and use it as a daily drive..lol,if you go FI in the M20 you GOT to go the MS route too without a doubt..

looking 2 mths max end of summer and il get that fitted via Ant, not just for fuel purposes but the overall smooth running of it,no flat spots better idle etc

got to be done
