I don't want to confess how much money I've spent in the last couple of years trying to sort out a slight misfire at steady speeds particarly 2200 revs, but 2000 to 2500 generally. The car's a beauty, but this niggling problem is spoiling it.
I want to try swapping the ECU and I've been keeping an eye on ebay for one but I rarely see the 380 part number come up and last time one did it went for silly money. There are loads of 073's coming up so my question is are these interchangeable? I guess the 380 must be fairly rare - I think it was only in the cabs between 88 and 90 before the cabs got a facelift. Would the standard pre facelift ones work, is it worth a try, or should I avoid it?
Thanks for any advice!
Paddy

Pretty sure you can swap for a 173 (facelift) ECU, but not a 073...
