As per title: Will an 8.5*17 inch wheel fit in the rear arches of an E30?
I ask as many of the cool E36 wheels (which I'll need with new suspension swap) come with 8.5 rears and 7.5 fronts.
I dont mind having the arches or inner wings messed around with, as long as it's not more expensive than selling the rear E36 wheels and getting 2 fronts (7.5J) to put on the rear.
Thanks guys..
Jai

They will work depending on the offset.

Cool..
I'll be fitting MCoupé rear arms. They are wider than E30 M3 ones by the same ammount as the offset is different from E36 to E30M3 wheels if that makes sense..
Basically I have E30 M3 stuuf at the moment and am hoping the MCoupé rear arms and E36 8.5 rear wheels will fit.
Jordan from RV3Limited has this I think but not sure.
Anyone else have 8.5 rears and if so what is the offset?

Excellent news.
Any arch rolling required?
What tyres can I fit in there? are 215/40/17's the deepest/widest I can go for sensibly? I have H&R springs (-35mm) atm but if it means more rubber I don't mind going to a different spring set.
With 250lb/ft ish of torque it'll need some rubber down there. (although it isn't everything, pressure is a function of force and area)

well Jordan had 245/45/18's all round iirc on his.. it depends on offset
im hoping to run 225/40's on either my BBS' or some 16" MIM's (tho these are et10 and will require plenty of arch work i reckon)
you may need some arch work.. wouldnt like to say

He lives in America too.. Probably has ROCK hard suspension. Not too many corners or roundabouts to worry about and the roads are smoothe as glass..
I spose they have to worry about bottoming out at the drive thru though.
I made up my mind during this post and won the bid on some 328i sport e36 BBS splitties (are they split or are those just bolts on them wheels??) Hopefully these will suit my E30, especially if I get a re-spray and an MTech 2 kit.
I can always go and get another two front as I said, It'd just be nice to fit and forget.

£205.01 and they look like they are in better nick than most from the pictures...I guess E36 drivers were put off by the lack of tyres. A bonus to me!
The guy isn't that far from where I work so may go pick them up tomorrow.
I'm chuffed
