Hiya,

I know you are an e30 God and all that, and 99% of us (including me) take your word as gospel, hence Mark (my hubby) and Jonathan (V8Chevette) thought they could change a tank in a couple of Hours MAX as they had read your threads saying it was a straightforward hob.

Really is a B*tch of a job, especially workin on the floor, I didnt actually meet Jonathan as I was stuck in work but I bet he is Cursing Coming all that way for a nightmare Job!

Do you know of a step by step guide preferably with photos? so that people realise what they are in for?

The only difficult part is the two rear bolts that can become seized in with rust.
If these are not too bad then it is straightforward enough.
Wobble extensions are the tool for the job

I do speak with the benefit of a four post ramp, but, even on the floor it shouldn't be too bad.
Removing prop and exhaust is a bit of a pain, but after that should be easy enough- No big heavy lumps to manhandle, no bolts to torque to 500 lb/ft and no 3" diameter bushes to fit into 2.5" housings.
What were the problems?

I dont know what exactly the problem was, just that it took longer than expected, hubby had been working 16 hours a day so havent been able to chat to him about it yet!

Just want people to know its not a novice's job

as for not being able to sleep no i can't its too hot, but I got up early cos I've got in-laws here to help with baby so wanted peace to relax and browse the zone.
