Hi,

my E30 has just been repainted and now im trying to put it together. Im stuck with rear sidewindows and their metal frame. Can anyone please tell me how do i put the frame (marked red on pic) around side windows in place. Do i have to put it in before i fit the window or can i just somehow push it in.

Think most of it pushes in. Front vertical part is secured by two nuts feo inside.

We couldnt push it in no matter how hard we tried. I know about those 2 nuts, and we managed to get the bottom part in by sliding it in place. But i just cant get the top part to stick in that rubber seal.

I actually removed this bit of trim on a scrapper I was fragging the weekend before last, just to see how it fitted. Remember thinking "that looks a right bas**rd to get back in!"
Use plenty of soap lubricant, or if that doesn't work, silicon grease, which is the most effective lubricant available.
Of course, I may be totally wrong as to how it goes back, as I've never actually done it - just looked at it.

I tried with soap and still no use :) It is a bas**rd to get back in i guess. I will try with silicon grease, hope that will help.
