agree wth simon on the arches and sump issues but an e30 looks too good when its dropped, especially at the back!

Had my 318i on a bilstein kit at a 60mm drop all round. Looked sweet but wasn't practical and didn't help the handling much either! Then changed my wheels from 14s to 15s and decided I had to change the setup as the back wheels were occasionally rubbing on the arches especially with people in the back- it was cringe-worthy!

Now running a 60/40 setup - 60mm drop at front and 40mm at the back and am very happy with setup. Will be changing the whole lot though when i do engine conversion but think I might invest in an H+R cupkit with 60/40 setup after I get the conversion done.

E30s just look cool as f@ck when slammed imho!

However not as cool if your e30 has to be pulled onto a tow truck and the back end is just scrapping along the floor!

Similarly my front iS lip spoiler came off when reversing off a ramp on the wkend. However not as bad as when I reversed off a ramp when I had a 60mm drop all round and my chavtastic backbox got stuck on an edge whilst the mechanic was still reversing! Bent my pipes back nicely :-x

i've got 60mm all round on standard 14's and still looks too high. when i had the standard exhaust on my only problem was the red triangle speed bumps, where i would scrape my front bumper and then the exhaust. But now i have my chav-spec powerflow exhaust on i scrape really bad on speed humps. Its not even really a scrape its more like the speed bump is trying to pull my exhaust off. But still want it lower.

The last e30 i broke - we took the springs + shocks out the back and the springs from the front, believe it or not - the arches sat half way down the wheels and they still didn't rub when the wrecker dragged it up on to it's flat bed.

if you still want your car to be usable i wouldnt really go below 60/40.i have some problems with speedbumps with that, panesars 100/100 must have been completely useless on our great british roads 8O

theres a set of 80mm springs that a company do on ebay, but dont know if there any good, but there only a about 60 quid. I would love 100mm drop even if i have to put back on the 60 it would be worth it winkeye

Having just returned from The US of A, have to say the roads around Washington and to New York were probably worse than I've seen around here. Our bus to NYC let us know about evry single lump and bump as it crashed over them!!

My Sport came lowered around 80mm all round. Looked quite cool but was a bitch to drive on anything other than a perfect smooth road.
Ive put a 35mm Cup kit on now which has raised it a good inch and its much better and handles really well and looks 100times less like a chav mobile.

Lowered 60/60 great cornering good on tire wear as well.
Front was lower on low profiles but sumps are £60 so jacked them up a little.

Will look like it did before i took the system out. I'v never been able to see the top of my tyre before, but on the plus side it's a lot quicker now
like i let 3 passangers out.
