I read in a post recently that if your steering fluid is grey and not red, something is wrong. What is wrong, and does this mean I need to change my fluid? How easy a job is this, and does the system need flushing or just draining and refilling?

thanks

Hi Mate, the fluid is red when new, when it changes to a darker colour then it's past time for a clean out and a change, details can be found here:
http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... echnps.htm

It's next on my list of things to try so cannot offer you any tips.

Hope this helps

Good luck Mate, let me know how it goes, I'm a total mechanical rookie so tend to plan things ahead and always check on here for hints/tips (just in case). By the way, if you need a syringe, I went into my local Boots and got one from there for about 60p, all I need now is the balls to actually try it....lol

Cheers
