My Uncle came over, and had a look at my auto, said he knew what he was doing. The car was ticking over, and he put his hand under the engine. It suddenly started to sputter, and died. He was playing with something, I have no idea what at all. Its a couple of wires, that run together, then join a socket, and lead to the back of the engine compartment. If you stand at the front of the car, looking towards the rear, its on the right hand side of the engine, quite deep in the engine bay, toward the road. Its fairly large, about the size of 2-3 thumbs put together alongside each other. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Will try get pics when I have some light. I'm really p/oed right now!!

Sounds like the plug and socket for the injectors and temp sensors.
Socket is fitted to the metalwork and plug locks in like a smaller version of the diagnostic socket and its lid.

This is the piece I am looking at - any ideas? Now sounds as if its running on 3 cylenders, IF I can get it started.

Exactly as Brian said. Its the plug for injectors and temp sensors. If disturbed it will either stop the car from running or start and run badly.
Just make sure that you have a good connection, its basically two plugs which mate together.

Tis a simple job !!!!

Looks like the top rubber cover is off, so the pins may be corroded.
It's essential that this connector is good.
If it is corroded, then the best plan of action is to remove both plug and socket, solder the wires together and insulate with heat shrink sleeving.
Unless he's loosened the plug by turning the lock ring, your father hasn't caused this fault - he's just found one that would have given you serious problems in the near future.
Take out the air filter assembly and the big air hose for access.

I did what you all suggested, had a look at the wiring. Seems that two of the wires were corroded. Took out the connectors, and spliced the wires together. One thing I noticed was that the bottom connector had six wires running into it, the top connector had seven. So what gives here? I now have one wire without a connection. Any ideas? Its a Brown and Yellow wire, thin one, running from the top of the engine to the top connector.
