i need to replace my thermostat cause my car is running a bit hot... than when i went to buy a thermostat they said that i need a diferent one than the one i took out? they said that for early 320i there is a bit diference one end is a bit smaller, every think is ok.

im not too sure, but looking on the ETK for the early ones there IS 2 diffrent part numbers for the thermostat, and only one for the later M20 320i, so chances are he could be right,
