what make a 325i an 'SE'?

New to bmw's so please bere with me. currently looking to buy a E plate 325i cabriolet which the seller tells me in an SE, i guess this is higher spec than std? Can you please tell me what to expect or look for to prove this or is he just saying it to make a sale?
What are these cars like in general? its a manual by the way
