I think you misunderstood or didnt read the answer properly
It was assumed he was fitting saloon mats as he had used ones to save money or he could get them and not cab ones....hence I was saying NO dont fit them as you can get cab ones for £40 from a specialist..as advertised in Owners Mag etc...eg E30Cabparts in Birmingham, AutomacGB in London, BMTown in Liverpool etc
Think that covers most of the country for him
Hope that clarifys and helps you understand

umm i took the question as will a 4 door CARPET fit a cab, ie he was talking about the floor carpet not the over mats. Doesn't seem to matter as he hasn't taken any notice of our replies

no the cab carpets are specific to the cab due to the wider sills and the thicker cross menber under the rear bench seat.
not all lost.. with some creative cutting i am sure a 3 door could be made to fit (as it would be bigger then a cab carpet) but would likely fray on the edges where you must cut. you could try cutting then lightly burning the edges to stop this happening.

a decent carpet shop would know where to get them "whipped" (bound round the edges like rugs)

wicked, thanks for the advice
my carpet looks a right mess with a rip in it, so i'll be keeping my eyes peeled for a decent 3doorer.
