People who have them, do you have to prick holes in your seats, or do the pins go in through existing stitching holes? I want to put them on my car with leather sports seats.

Get them from BMW.
I bought two M3 seat pins (but the M3 seats which I have have holes for the badge/pin already)
For two it was under 7 pounds.
I don't think the normal sports seat had pins in them? But they would look smart!

Do you mean the leathers or cloths?
Demlot has put them in on sport cloths (I think) and it looks smart.
Did you come to the last Brighton meet by the way?
Which BMW garage do you work at?
I'm in Brighton by the way....closeish?

leathers mate. Ive seen them on a few cars and they def look sweet, just dont want to make a load of irreversible holes in the leather!
Wasnt at the brighton meet, got to get to a meet soon though, just lazy and cant be bothered to travel! Might go to the next lakeside though.
I work at Vines Redhill, and I live near east grinstead, (bout 30 mins from crawley/gatwick).

I think that's the correct number.
The M3 seats have the indent and holes for them, so it looks lacking without them.
Much better with them on!

Can't get that for a Touring though mate.
M3's didn't have split/fold!!
This is as good as it gets in the world of the Touring mate.

I don't know mate,
I wouldn't have thought so, because in the touring the seat in is four pieces, and is the only one which folds down. Plus the side pieces would be different.
Whether or not it would actually fit I'm not sure!?

They just push in mate,
You should pull the centre part (centre pad) of the seat forward away from the body of the upright so you can get your hand behind it to bend the pins to hold the 'M' pin in properly.
The pins are made of lead (or similar) so they are easily bendable.
Get some pictures up when they're on!

haven't got them yet, i was just wondering how they fixed in place? i'm quite curious in this sense, too much for my own good more often than not.
how do the seat back cushions come away from the seat back frame? does it just pull away or is it fixed some how.

Two screws ate the bottom of the seat back, then pull of the plastic handles on the side and then it just lifts off.

Chris, just for your info, there were some pins on the seats when I bought them, but they were old and dis-coloured, I quite liked them without hence the holes in the seats!
And for some more info, the M3 seats haven't got holes ready, well the ones in mine haven't anyways!

i've just looked at my sport rear seats and i can see holes for rear head rests to go on AND what looks like holes for rear seat pins!
On my old 318i i had M3 half leathers (very nice) and the front seats were identical to sport seats and they had M-pins in them. I like these pins lots and lots so how do u get the back cover off your seat anyone!?

2 screws at the base of the seat back, prise of the handles, and prise off the cover, then for the passenger seat with the extra release handle, look inside the seat and you will see a screw undo this and pull the extra handle off, and lift the seat back up out of the clips at the top of the seat, and over the other handle.Simon13 wrote: how do u get the back cover off your seat anyone!?

It's easy when you're doing it, I just went into a little more depth than neededSimon13 wrote:sounds like putting it back on will be fun!
Just make sure the top part of the seat back is clipped in when re-fitting.

You could just push them through, and apply a small amout of glue to the back of the badge?A1BMW325iSport wrote:what about the actual recaro M3 seats they dont have removable seat backs any ideas how i can fit the badges?

Hi, I have just fitted some to my cab didn't want to make holes in the leather so I put the pins through the stitching holes, works well.

I've got two pairs (4 individual badges/pins) of genuine BMW front seat pins if anyone needs some.
I bought them ages ago, but could not bring myself to put holes in the leather.
Ԛ£5.50 per pair delivered.
Ian.
