is it making a lotta noise too??
or just stiff as hell?
and does it come and go??
mine did this when i picked it up a while ago
turned out both rack and pump had given up
when trying to drive i had to constantly keep nudging sterring wheel left n right to try and keep car in some sort of straight line

Theres no noise and the steering's fine when turning its just that it wont come back on its own. It starts to come back from full lock but not at all from less than that. Not sure if he has to keep adjusting to keep it in line, dont think so. Cheers for the reply daz

It may well be that your tracking / toe-in needs attention.
