I have fixed the problem of the headlamp washer system not working by replacing the motors and renewing the washer water lines. the problem is now when i operate the winscreen washer with no headlights on the healamp wash wipe system works. I thought this was only supposed to work every 10th operation of the windscreen washers with the main headlights/sidelights on. Any ideas , i have receivede the wiring diagram from BMW but it does not show how the circuit interacts with the headlights for every 10th operation.

Its probably something to do with one of the relays.
The largest one in the fuse box controls the intensive wash when you push the stalk and the one attached to the washer reservoirs controls the headlamp wash.
Getting replacements sorted out the timing of washes on mine....
