Noisy Engine...Any ideas??

Hi,
When idling particularly if warm the engine seems to give a rattly sound as if something is loose....is this anything to worry about??? cheers

Sure it's engine, and not gearbox?

Does it stop when you put the clutch pedal down ?

Hi again , Yes Ed the noise does go when the clutch is depressed....anything serious?????

Think you may be just describing typical E30 gearbox idler rattle.
If this is what it is, then it's nothing to worry about at all.
