318i manual engine into a 318i auto shell... easy?

I have seen this car for sale at a very reasonable price, its a 1989 2dr 318i auto in black (bog standard, steel wheels but very tidy cant see any rust on her)




the touring is nearly finished (touch wood) so we will need another project


I have this 2dr, a 1987/88 318i manual in black,




shell is rotten but engine and box have only done 54,000 miles. So I want to put it into a new shell.
I also have a set of bottle tops or bbs that I could put on the new shell.

Is it worth trying or is it a lot of hassle? Ive never done an engine transplant, my other half has only done it on a ford escort i think
