Yes, early ECUs had 2 layers IIRC

Just spoken to Mark( innes) he has the old old old 073 type ECU, its a 24 pin jobby without the jumper provison so we've called it a day on that one, fuel quality switch is the backup plan, he'll ahe to test that on the fly though.

good luck Mark, nice talking with you, if I can help further let me know fella ok.

Return addy is in your PM box later tonight 8)

Are all 073 types the same? If not, how do I tell?

There are two main types of the 073 ECU in use.

one is a 24 pin eprom type, one is a 28 pin type.

you cant get 24 pin eproms of the correct type anymore, in fact they've been scarce since they went out of prodyuction in '87

the 24 pin units are easily modded to accept the bigger chip, 4 pins are added to the socket, the holes are inplace for these already, any 073 thats been refurbed will have been modded at that tiome.

to test, pull the ECU out, remove the cover and count the pins on the eprom, you can just see it without opening the boards up.

I can mod any that need doing for a small fee, but any TV repair place/competent solderer can carry out the mods

Innes car is a German spec model, imported back the UK, he has an 082 ECU hence the disparity, it does not have all the provisions for modding as its an older unit still, 86 spec !
