Hello there

Ive just put a replacement working cluster in2 this 1990 320

hoping it would sort the speedo, no joy. All the other dials are working.

What else should I be looking at, there's a speedo sensor in there somewhere, what's the crack with that?

Cheers

Check the wire coming out the back of the diff, normally goes brittle and snaps. check it for continuitty between the diff and the socket under the back seat.
There is NO nucleus.

It's the copper inside the wire that breaks, not the sheath, so it won't be obvious from the outside.
Pull the individual wires gently. If they stretch, they are broken inside.
