Found my PAS oil all over the garage this morning - coming from the nearside boot, think the seals in the rack have gone as seems to be a lot of oil in the other side too- dont think it should be like that!

Does anyone know if a 320i g plate rack is the same - should be i would think, mines an F reg.
Found a couple of cars in the local scrappy might be good for bits.

when i changed the steering rack on my 320i convertible i first got a rack from another e30, but this was different, it was also a 320i, but the rack was shorter and wouldnt reach the column, so i had to purchase a reconditioned rack from euro car parts, if i was you id take off your old rack and check it with you to the ones at the scrap yard to make sure there identical, its a simple job to remove and replace the rack, the only hard part is reconecting the rack to the column, just be careful the hose from the reservoir to the pump doesnt get damaged when you tighten it up, as for the years, i believe the racks are the same, i think it was only changed in the very late e30 years,
hope this is of help
