Rights gents, bit of a problem...

Went to fit the H&R 60/40 cupkit today.... unfortunately for me theres four BMW lock nuts on the car, and low and behold I have no key. The guys in the garage managed to fit the rear without taking off the wheels but not the front. (Back looks bloody low, a lot lower than I was expecting :o )

Now I have the part number for the lock nuts off old invoives provided by the previous owner.

Question IS, if I roll into a dealer tomorrow with the part number in hand on the old invoice will the dealer have a copy of the keys in stock for me to either use or buy thus allowing me to remove them and keep them.... Or will I have to cut them off....

Shes booked in to get them cutoff in the morning but I'll try the dealer first to see what the story is. Opinions on this problem....?

Worth a try mate but the chances of a dealer haveing the same pattern as your lockers in stock is about a million to one, I just hamered a socket over them and got them off that way then put new set on !

If they're the old OE type with a key, I can get them off just as quickly with a cold chisel as going indoors to get a key!
Good smack with a chisel and they fall off, revealing the hex headed bolt beneath.

Try the dealer, depends how desperate you are, he'll be able to get you a key cut but it may take a week. If that's too long knock them off with a chisel your self, don't let anyone take money off you for that!

Haha, they'll be banged off so in the morning. They're the old slim key variety with the black plastic cover on them.

Cheers gents

I like them, I've got a full set with twelfty keys. Tey are secure and put peopl off but I know they will knock off if they need too. But I've got loads of keys so it's not a problem. They unbolt and bolt up like normal studs too, I hate the ones with the socket for undoing them it always seems to be at an angle and close to slipping when doing them up.
