The opening rear quarter windows in my 318is have got part chrome trim along the bottom edge.
They have been painted Black but are flaking badly and look shite!

Is it possible to remove these without damage?

I have a spare set of windows with the correct Black trim and would ideally like to use these.

So is it possible?
Anyone done it or know of a link that shows how?

Thanks in advance

I removed the rear window surrounds on my car about two hours ago - you'll need to undo the two nuts from the window bolts in the door pillar before you can remove the trim. One is under a circular plastic cover at the bottom, the other is under the little hook thing at the top. Once you have taken these off, it's just a case of carefully separating the chrome surround from the windows rubber seal.

Hope this makes sense!

If you're going to change just the bottom strip on the surround, it's not too bad - when the whole surround is off you'll see that the bottom strip can be seperated from the rest of it. Watch out though when you are removing the surround from the car (if you are intending to re-fit it) as it is very easy to bend it slightly out of shape!
