Whats the possiblity....overheating m40...

I have a m40 in thte pipeline that I may buy...

It overheats...temperature shoots up straight away, THIS IS PROPER OVERHEATING none of that pretend viscous clutch inspired overheating....

Aperently car is not loosing and radiator water and the water/ oil are not mixing. Has hardly been driven while overheating, no steamy situations, just charging straight to the red line...

Been told it the water pump... could it just be this? maybe the thermostate as well??

What are the chances of it being a gasket? remeber its an m40 not a m20....

does the car "smell" hot?

if it "overheats" straight away, and the engine has just been switched on then its likely a dodgy gauge/sender unit.

if it shoots up within say a min or two-then the pump could be FUBAR'd.

I bought the one in my sig pic for Ԛ£380 in october, spent around Ԛ£250 (at the most...) on it. Sold it yesterday for Ԛ£1300! I like the way the appriciate in value....

Oh I don't really "want" an m40 I see them as a means to an end...or something!
