Ok guys need some help and advise again.
Had problems with my rev counter only working on the odd occasion and sticking at about 2.5 k revs most of the time.
Ive just got an intrument cluster out of a 320i face lift model but i think the red lights are on the way out, very dim, the petrol reading is wrong and milage is ready 197,000.
Which is best coarse of action?
a. put the whole cluster in my car and wind the milage back.
If so will it fit and work in my tech 1 and how difficult is it to reclock milage.
b. take rev counter out of the 320 cluster and put into my tech 1.
is this a very difficult job? any advise on this?
cheers guys
Rev counter, and speedo not workin now, please help!!!!!

unless one of them ia an early cluster, all parts are interchangeable.
Rev counter's held in place by four(?) self tappers on the back of the cluster, then just unplugs.

managed to swap the tacho out of the donor cluster and replace my fautly tacho.
put it all back together but still have the same problem, would i be correct in thinking its a fault some where in the cluster/si board?
any ideas anyone?

ok tryed a few diffent combinations of the 2 clusters and there parts and finnaly got everthing working with the 320 cluster front section and my 325 back section of cluster.
This worked fine for about 20 mins, then when i switched the car off an on the speed and tacho dial were dead, checked fuses 10 and 12 and rest of fuses and they are all ok.
I though id go back to the original set up with my original cluster front and back and its still the same no speedo or tacho, both dead.
Cheaked fuses and all seem ok
Out of ideas no, can anyoner else help?
also noticed this green light comes in the lower left hand corner of display when you turn ignition to position 1
