Hi Guys, recently purchased myself a 318Is, had noticed that the horn didn't work so spent some time searching the forums and followed the advice suggested (ear by the fuse box, listen for relay clicking when horn button is press WHICH IT DOES), have spoken with the last owner who is able to confirm that the horn did once work, however by the sounds of it it's become water logged and now no longer makes a sound. My question is this, which horn do I replace the standard unit with?, do I buy another BMW unit (and do I buy from main dealer??, address, web-site appreciated) or will one of the off the shelf type air horns work (which I would prefer, again where do I buy?).

Thanks in advance,

Your problem is probably the horn itself. You can replace it with an aftermarket one if you want - either a one or two terminal type.
The only problem you may find is with the fitting and weatherproofing of the connections.
I'm assuming you only have a single horn behind the centre grill. If you have the twin horns (one behind each foglamp), then you should use OE replacements because of the connectors.
Ask your dealer for a price - you may be surprised.
