I've had greenstuff on the front - I wasn't impressed. I did have 'normal' discs, and EBC do recommend matching their discs with their pads, but there is too much expense - I now have Mintex pads on 'normal' discs - an excellent setup which doesn't cost the earth, but stops very well.

IMHO there isn't much point in spending money on uprating rear brakes - they do very little of the work, and it's more important they work evenly and don't snatch than actual stopping power.

I hear what your saying but I have tried the a few different disc/pad setups and for overall value/stopping power find Power discs and Greenstuff pads to be very good. The Black diamond discs were crap and kept cracking around the drill holes (just used on the road, no track work)
and the C-tech pads were the biggest load of sh*t I have ever bought, so bad infact that the were in there a week before I replaced them with the greenstuff pads and threw the C-tech's in the bin.

I find the greenstuff are average for town driving but for hi speed quick stops even in quick sucession they work very well :)

i had greenstuff pads and the matching grooved/dimpled discs on my old 320i, but to be honest i never really tested them out (it was a 320i ffs!).

i have heard they are slightly better than average but on track etc will still fade, however, i can vouch that they are AMAZING on brake dust if you want to keep your wheels clean...

i used greenstuff on my last car for a few months, they used to last for about 3 months per set! reasonable stopping power but just didnt last long enough.

Changed to pagid fast road and they were amazing. the new owner of that car loves them, never had any fade from them.

will be using pagid on the e30 when they need changing.

Strange mine last for ages, (normally longer than the discs, work that one out?)

http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk/main.htm

just so happens im on their site at the moment! they are a local company who use brembo castings and drill/groove in three different patterns. very good quality, and blinding blokes. they have been making my brakes for about four years now.
