temperature guage and rev counter not working

I am the proud owner of an 1987 e30 m3.The temperature guage and the rev counter are not working.I think i've checked the obvious but maybe someone out there might shine a light on it.The car as been parked for 10 years.

there is a different fuse for the gas&speedo and rev&temp gauges, I guess this is one of the obvious reasons but its worth a shot
