I bought a cab a few months ago, generally very good but the rear window was totally shot - no leaks, but couldn't see a thing through it.
I found that it was a zip-in type (look carefully from the inside, peel back the trim and you may see a zip) - that was good news, as otherwise its a stitching job to replace it (and most people just give up and buy a new hood).
The BMW replacement was expensive so I got a refurbished one from www.emiata.com in the USA. At $120 with the current exchange rate its a real bargain!
It was an absolute sod to fit - as I suspect are the BMW ones. The trick (as recommended by BMW) is to have everything really warm - this is a high summer/heated workshop job. Otherwise the zip simply pulls away at the corners as you try to fit it.
Due to last summer's wonderful weather, and having no workshop myself, I ended up getting a local MG restoration specialist to do the work - and at the same time they cleaned the hood and reproofed it with Renovo products (check their web site). Once cleaned, the hood was so good we skipped the re-colouring treatment - it can end up looking patchy if you are not very careful.
The new window transformed the car - looks so much better, and I'm much less likely to reverse into something!
