Can anyone help with this conundrum.
I’ve bought a set of rear mudflaps that were sealed and the fixings were sealed.. but there’s no instructions. The usual mudflaps you find have that right angle bracket that attaches to the chassis, and is pretty self explanatory to fit.
These however are completely different. I’ve no idea how to make the fixtures below work!!! Anyone seen these before??? There are so many different genuine E30 Mudflap styles that were released, so it’s all a bit of a minefield.

I would strongly recommend against fitting them.
They cause much more rust than they save.

I’m not too concerned about that. The arches are immaculate, and the car only gets driven on dry summer days and tarmac roads

i recently bought an 87 convertible fitted with mudflaps all round and the rear ones have the usual right-angled bracket fixings to the chassis, together with 10mm self tapping bex-headed screws instead of the spring clips on yours.
The 2 square plates,2 four-sided nuts, 2 coach bolts and,i'm guessing, the 2 slotted plates will be for attaching to the inner-arch sheetmetal.
Which leaves you with 3 bolts, 3 nuts and 4 washers for what purpose i cant fathom!
I tried replacing the hex-screws with spring clips for a more OEM look, but found there was just too much sealent on reverse side of arch-flange.
As for rust, i removed all the fittings and covered everthing in engine-oil for protection.
