Hi just started restoring my 1990 e30 1.8i touring. Been neglected for a few years and now decided to get her back on the road. Want to get the rear hub nuts off but upon removing the brake disc discovered no hub nut cap. Shit. Nuts browner than a cadburys flake and just as crumbly. Short of dynamite, any ideas how to get it orf??

Welcome to the zone mate and spit out some pics of your car please !! winkeye winkeye
Soak the offender in plus gas for 24 hours (after wire brushing it first) then do it again and in between ,keep hitting it with a solid hammer but be careful not to "bruise" the nut or the thread .
In between this, do this every chance you get then.......A very big pipe and socket on extension and get a fat sod like me to jump on it and pray .

Mart.
Only the E46 cab left now.
Just got too old.

You should do all of this with the car on the ground - not on jacks or stands - the force required can tip the car over.

Power impact driver with correct socket is your friend.

Have you removed the locking tab? It's easy to miss if you don't know it's there. Use a screw driver to pry it out, you will need a new one as it will deform. Link to show the part but available cheaper elsewhere:
