Anyone here have any experience with E23s? The big bargey 7 series?
Just curious as would be good to know who to call on if I ever need some advice with issues and also where to source parts for this thing lol
Cheers

No personal experience with them but I would imagine they are like all BMW's of that era, find a clean shall and the mechanicals are pretty straight forwards

They're a funny one. I almost ended up with one a couple of years ago. Standard ebay 'oh I'll bid on that' but missed it by a fiver. Very original car but was peanuts. Now people seem to hold them in some regard and they are going up.

Oh wow, thats mint!
I’ve got a lot to do to get this one back on the road, but i have the space and the time so it shouldnt be an issue. Its been sat for 17 years! Unfortunately with the bonnet stuck out the door of the shed...
Will get pics at some point
Got to the car this evening and got to the dirty stuff.
But first... a sideways picture: After cleaning up the plugs, an oil change, new fuel pump, a drained tank and 4L of tescos finest fuel it finally fired up after being sat for 17 years

... will probably need a new starter motor now lol

Hey?!? Did they buy it and just forget about it??
Things like that amaze me... how could you leave something, especially this big, for so long and leave it?!?
Ahhhh... get yourself a can or seven of carb cleaner and you’ll be fine ;)
The paint on the bonnet and front wings is very crusty. The rest of the car (which was in the garage) is completely fine luckily, minus the pigeon poo.
Thinking maybe a blow over the front panels should be okay... im not trying to make a minter

I knew the guy who's father owned it, it was a true 'second car' he did a tour of Devon/Cornwall in it and then it was just a nice car to go to out for Sunday lunch in until his health deteriorated and he decided not to drive it. Its a shame it only a 728, why dont they buy the big engined ones and hoard those

Is the one from your old unit? Think I only ever saw the boot being used as a tool/parts bin!DanThe wrote: ↑Thu Aug 13, 2020 8:48 amI knew the guy who's father owned it, it was a true 'second car' he did a tour of Devon/Cornwall in it and then it was just a nice car to go to out for Sunday lunch in until his health deteriorated and he decided not to drive it.
