Even though the MOT on the E30 has been extended by six months, which would be late November (not the best time to be messing) , I decided to carry on and get it tested as usual.
My regular mechanic and MOT guy had decided to retire and close down his business, So had to find someone new. I think we all like to stick with what we know, particularly if they’ve been testing our cars for many years.
So it was with a little trepidation I took it in for it’s MOT to the new garage.
Within an hour he phoned and said the same words my previous tester used to say.........”it’s perfect”
That’s what we all like to hear about our cars, plus he said he’d charge me trade as we’ve a few cars he’ll now be looking after!
Can’t ask for more than that!

Looks great and doesn't look like you had much to worry about.
Must be fairly early example on a D plate?

Yes I understand that is the case if your MOT expires after 1st August, no extension.
Mine expired 24th July, so six month extension.
But as said chose to keep with July MOT’s

Yep, 38th built, took delivery 20 August 1986.
Completely original & try very hard to keep it that way.
Chose badge delete, as back then only the 325i was produced, so people who know ‘their onions’ knew it was 325, also twin tail pipes only on 325. Hate it when the badges & stick-on bits get full of polish!
Anal I know!

Should have said.........only the cabriolet introduced in 1986 was produced in 325i form.
