The digital clock and CD player both stopped working at the same time. As they are on the same fuse, I thought it had blown. A new fuse did not solve the issue. Any suggestions before I start following wires?

Nope, just follow the power from FROM THE FUSE. As it has two units fail on the same power line it is likely to be a junction or connector.
Everyone has the right to reach the level of their own incompetence.

If this is the red/green wire from fuse 21, then it follows a tortuous route, doubling back on itself from a multi way junction point, situated inside the wrapped loom, part way back the LH sill. If this joint is constantly damp from wet carpet, then it has been known to cause problems from corrosion.

I’ll have another go today, but I think it might be time to call in the auto electrician

Does the digital clock have it’s own internal fuse?
