Mtech 2 front bumper installed on a pre-face lift

Afternoon all,

I am looking to fit aa Mtech2 front bumper on my 1989 pre-facelift convertible. I have been told I will need a face lift valance in order to fit the bumper. if this correct? will the valance fit with out mods on my pre-facelift? also what else would I need to ensure that I can fit the tech2 bumper?
