Multi part inquiry:

First: I think I may have fried my original Blaupunkt amplifier.
Replaced the aftermarket Kenwood unit in it with a Pioneer that had an AUX port.

It was working with the unit out of the cradle.
Put it in, no power.

Hot line had come loose so I reconnected and now the head unit comes on but there is no sound.

I have 12v at the red/white wires at the amp., fuses are good, including the onboard fuse in amp.

From what I've read it means the amp is cooked.

I would like to keep everything as close to stock so I have sourced replacement amps, not a big deal.

Second: I would like to determine exactly what head unit originally came with the car.
Premium sound system code is "S675A" but, I can't seem to find more information to determine exactly what head unit came with it?

Thank you so much for any input.

AFAIK the S675A is the premium speaker set, it will have had a different code for the head unit. If you have the original handbook, there are instructions for the option radios in that.

However mine had a different Blaupunkt from new to the Becker that was one of the options in the handbook

A possible option for an '87 car would have been a Blaupunkt Atlanta SQR47.

Interesting.
That makes sense going by the information I'm finding, that referring to only the speakers.

I DO have the original handbook, didn't think to look the.

Thanks for the input.

This may not be germaine to the thread but experiencing similar issues with my head unit (KE-81ZMB-02) from a 87 325is (North America). No Owners manual, no code. I am not sure where to turn to find help .....looks like i may be out of luck.

Idk how I'm just seeing this.
I found all the documentation for my head unit at Radiomuseum.org
