Hey all,
Just trying to return to the E30 scene and in the middle of purchasing what is said to be an E30 325i sport mtech 1 convert.
Now the car doesn’t have an LSD and I keep reading this is standard, but is that the case on the early ones? Was it an option? Is it a genuine sport?
I put the vin in on the decoder and it didn’t list anything to do with sport except the 339 de chrome and sport steering wheel. Now I did it with another sport convert vin and again it didn’t list anything sport related but that one did have the LSD listed.
Vin is 2265180.

A 'sport' only came in saloon variant, so no such thing as a sport convertible. There was a limited edition 'Motorsport' model that was only available as a convertible and had cosmetic extras such as extended leather. Things like an LSD could be fitted to any model if the original buyer ticked the box on the options list.

A lot of LSD's went "missing" when the car was being serviced.

Ah ok so the body kit would of been fitted after production?
The Motorsport convertibles are the facelift versions with the door pods (mtech 2)

There were pre and post facelift Motorsport cabriolets.
LSD was an optional extra.

Not necessarily, the bodykits are factory fitted if specified from new.chrissporte30 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 7:39 pmCloggy Saint wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 3:06 pmA 'sport' only came in saloon variant, so no such thing as a sport convertible. Also, the very early Motorsport convertibles had no bodykit, just body coloured bumpers (metal).
Alas, the one you're looking at looks to be a bog standard 325i , only options if appears to have added from new were the steering wheel and 15" BBS.

Looks to me that the bodykit has been fitted later in life, so go over it extra carefully to make sure it's fitted correctly, and has the correct convertible specific side-skirts.
