The 63 litre tank has a much more sophisticated internal syphon system to transfer fuel from the left side to the right, which results in the levels in the two halves not being the same. For this reason, the 63 litre tank has a sensor in each half, connected in series, to give an average level for the fuel gauge. If fitting this larger tank to a standard car, it must be paired with the appropriate fuel gauge in the dash cluster and will also need a return fuel line fitted.

Thanks Steve .
Its the wiring side of things that i was worried about as the 4 pots body loom wont have the other sensor wire.

I have a further question about this. I have acquired a 63L tank and feel it would be a good addition to my road car. No sensors sadly. naturally, I currently have the intank pump and level sensor assembly. I also have a spare level sensor with one outlet from an M10 car.
My question is can I use these two components plus the correct gauge to make the system work? Fit the M10 sensor to the left side and seal the outlet, then a fly loom over to the right side?

That should work OK. You'll still need the 63l gauge for the cluster, though.

The Wiki is, well very vague on this. "Fuel gauges can be identified by a label on the side of the gauge."
