i'm going to get rid of the cheapo ebay short shifter i've been running as it's a bit clunky so i'm thinking the z3 one i had a few years ago wasn't that short but it wasn't clunky ....

my question , is it a standard z3 1.9 shifter i need ?

cheers Mick .

There's the Z3 2.8 shifter, that's a lot shorter than the 1.9 version. However I found it too clunky in first and second until the car was nicely warmed up.

Is the 1.9 shifter a vast improvement over stock in terms of throw?

So long since I drove an E30 without one I can't remember how bad the standard lever is.

Worth a read.
