Hello all, I recently purchased an '85 325e 5spd. Previous owner had very little information for me about the mods done to it, but so far I have found out that it has a 2.5l head with a pretty big cam from the sound of it, not sure what size, 2.5l harness and 2.7l block. It also has what I assume is an ebay turbo kit and 24lb injectors.
I plan to refresh the engine and make the turbo system better and hopefully get around 300whp. I have been researching the process across forums but still have some questions.
I plan to run a Holset HX35
Megasquirt 2 with stock ignition and injection
42lb bosch injectors
Bpr7es spark plugs
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Goetze head gasket with ARP studs
Replace all other gaskets as well since it is leaking pretty good.
So question time:
Is this fuel/ ignition setup good enough?
What size blowoff valve would be needed?
If the HX35 is internally waste gated, will I need to do something about it and get an external waste gate?
Do I need some sort of MAF or does it just use stock stuff?
Pretty new to M20s and turbo setups in general, so just trying to learn and not screw stuff up too much! If I missed anything that I should also take car of let me know. Any help is appreciated.
