``yes, I did this mod on my 4.6 x5 over 4 years ago. From my point of view an excellent mod. Allowed me to change the header tank cap to 1.4.bar, got rid of all the niggley coolant leaks/weeping connections less stress on valley pan . On the hottest of summer days temperatures run at 88/93c I have the 80c thermostat fitted. Added bonus for me is the auto box oil runs way cooler as well. At same time I did this mod I converted to electric fan, with a duel temperature switch in the top hose to run the fan at low/high speed. I have never heard the fan switch to high speed. Low speed normally will kick in when stopped at lights, never runs when moving and will cycle 2/3 times when you stop and switch off. No more fear of header tank exploding or need to change hoses.
