Any other Londoners on here thinking about ULEZ coming up on 8th April.. the full expansion in October 2021, which covers most London suburbs, will literally spell the end of classic cars in London for regular folk (unless you fancy paying the 12.50 a day charge).

Real pain in the arse as I've been scouting E38's for my new daily... and it seems my E30 will only be used for summer road trips across country from then on. Might be time for me to pack it all in and get a bicycle :(

Lobby whoever it may concern to have LPG converted cars accepted, as the French do. My 1999 E39 wears a 'critair 1 sticker, which classifies it just one group (out of six) below zero emissions vehicles, such as electric cars.
LPG conversion is simple on any E30 engine, and has the bonus of greatly reducing engine wear.

There's an article in this month's issue of Professional Plumbing and Heating Installer about vans for use in the ULEZs, and one of the solutions they mention is converting a petrol vehicle to LPG, so maybe TFL has seen the light (or the article is simply wrong).

I doubt anyone will take notice, they seem more interested in hate speech crimes and lgbt lessons in schools. The actual air pollution is not as important as money raised because of it

Thank god I live just outside the M25.

Just read another article in a magazine that states that ULEZ requirements in London can be met by converting to LPG and notifying the DVLA.
It's of no interest to me, since I haven't been inside the M25 for twenty years, and have no intention of doing so any time soon, but for those E30 owners who are stuck there, it has to be worth checking out.

According to the TFL site they are still ignoring clean LPG cars, scroll down to LPG conversion

If your vehicle has been converted to run on LPG you may meet the emissions standards. However, the emissions standard of the engine will be considered to be the same as it was before it was converted.

Bloody ludicrous

This could all well be the end of driving around our much loved E30's here in London including all other classic cars that fall into the category.

Is there anyway around this at all? or have the government gone cut throat with this all?

Sean Bailey wants to rescind the extension so vote for him, to be honest will if be bought in at all, Covid has had an affect on a lot od peoples finances who don't have the money to upgrade their cars or to pay the daily charge.

Also remember if London rolls over and takes it bending over with no lube then other cities will do the same, maybe Jeremy Clarkson should stand for Mayor.

All part of the creeping master plan to get everyone into electric vehicles, next will be a creeping punishment tax on your petrol car and on petrol and our cars will be reduced to shows. We’ll be looked on as a bunch of weirdos living in the past.

Thats why Smart Meters are being rolled out as when you charge your car then can tax you, people in high density areas are screwed and tone honest not everyone can afford even the cheapest electric car.

Sadiq Khan is rushing to get this up and running to try and recover the billions he has wasted. With London on lockdown for the foreseeable future, surely emissions are at an all time low anyway?

It's just another way of taking your money, and getting you to buy a new shitbox in the process. Or in most cases now, people arent even going to be able to afford a vehicle at all. Luckily I live few miles outside this new zone, so I have a few years at best to move further out.

Only 6 months to go, luckily there are 4 councils opposing this madness. They may have a chance as tfl have been very suspect in compiling data for their report, and in their own words the impact on air quality will be negligible.

If the zone goes ahead I'm sure there will be enough disgruntled residents around to take care of a few cameras.

From what I have read recently, all is not above board and the "little fucker" is pushing it through at all costs regardless of what public opinion says and the "little fucker" seems to be blatantly ignoring the actual facts of reports !!
It seems yet again to be someone who is doing something for personal gain and "Sod" the people who he is meant to be helping as his arguments just do not stack up .
As Carl has said ,people in London MUST stand up for themselves and protest to the highest level .
It has started to be rolled out across the country little by little and very soon indeed the city centers of this land will be laid to waste as no one will be allowed to travel by car into them.
Our unwanted/needed /shit Mayor of West Yorkshire keeps telling us to use public transport 8O 8O 8O 8O Where has she been ????????????????????????
(she was born up here but spent all her life and still does in London 8O 8O 8O 8O )
It`s basically crap (when its not on strike) winkeye
I have a 15min journey each day to work and travel through boundries of Leeds, Batley, Dewsbury and Wakefield and in a few years I will be paying them to go to work

Its just insane though, 2/3 of people opposed it yet they still have the cheek to proclaim this is a democracy! Dictatorship more like..

A fair few councils are refusing to put up signage and trying to take the khant down, i think there are a few protests going on and a lot of folk are not happy!

The data is all shoddy yet they still push on and the handfull of whiney vocal idiots applaud like fools

This means you will need to pay the appropriate ULEZ charge and if applicable, the Congestion Charge and LEZ
charge. If you do not pay the charge(s) you may receive Penalty Charge Notice(s) for one or more schemes.
Euro 4 became mandatory for all new cars 2005 and light vans in 2006. We note that this vehicle was first registered in
November 1998, therefore it's unlikely to be compliant with the ULEZ standards.
If you believe your vehicle is ULEZ compliant you will need to supply further evidence to that previously provided and
explain why the vehicle is ULEZ compliant.
We would also like to clarify that the details currently held by the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) reflect that
your vehicle is not compliant. Updating this vehicles compliance record directly with DVLA so that ULEZ Compliance
Registration with us is not required is also an option for you.
As your vehicle does not comply with the ULEZ standards, you can choose to pay the charge or use an alternative form
of travel. For example:

Hmm so ive requested a certificate of conformity for my 98 535i which shows the emissions to be within the euro 4 status, but tfl have rejected it as per above... post 01 e39s are ulez and if anyone can confirm im guessing the cat/ emissions equipment remained the same throughout the production years?

I've done a bit of research and came across a few threads for E31 owners etc who have succesfully contested the euro status of their bm's

But its a bit mixed some sources say its Euro 3 others say its Euro 4... Ive requested a conformity certificate and it shows co at 0.064g/km & HC+Nox at 0.073g/km

the euro standards are co must be under 1g/km & nox at under 0.08g/km

Now going by that surely its Euro 4?

Are there any bmw techs or anyone knows if the emissions equipment on the M62's was the same throughout the production years? Real oem shows the same cats fitted from 96 to 03 and 2003/02 e39 v8's are ulez

Its all very confusing

Never heard that but black and silver plates are only legal on cars built before 1973 so eventually you will get fined anyway. I have been led to believe that vehicles caught that don't register are looked at manually?
