Owned a E36 and had bought M52 for it but then got offered the E30, stripped with no engine and interior etc but had plate F79MDL.
I was born in 79 and surname McDowell so thought I would buy it and get plate off it as £200 was bargain for private plate.
Got it home and it's rock solid so E36 went with intention of fitting the M52 to it and hammering it round croft.
However after 6 years of odd weekends messing with it and rebuilding it I can't do that to it so a couple more jobs and it's MOT time finally.
It's m52 with m20 flywheel and manual conversion, m50 inlet and ecu tweaked by Dante and manifolds the same, cannot recommend him enough and wish had just had loom conversion done by him as it was a right sod.
325i brakes and suspension and exhaust with a tailpipe hidden to look like standard 318i :)
Bodywork has couple scratches and marks but will get sorted maybe next year.
Have few pics of it from first collecting it to how it sits now, even got hold of fibreglass bonnet (off M3 racecar) to make it easier to work on in garage lol

So bit of an update finally,
Wasn't starter at fault after removing and stripping and cleaning and refitting it turned out to be ignition switch had broken clip and wasn't turning all the way to engage so got cable tied lol.
Decided to change droplinks for mondeo ones and change ARB to polybushed 22mm one and the lollipops disintegrated so swapped those for poly m3 ones and now drives a lot different 😁.
Over 9 years ago I bought it as a rolling shell and I'm pleased to say it now has 12 month MOT as of today with advisory for wiper blade 😎.
Few more small jobs to do but I'm loving it, just need this lockdown to end 🙂
