M20b25 turbo or M62 V8?

Hello guys,

I am building a e30 i am not great with figures and power i am trying to work out whether the 2.5 engine with a turbo on will give me more power than a m62b35. I have thought long about what to do and then decided i would ask others for opinions and tech spec. I have the 2.5 engine already so would be the case of buying the extra parts or i can buy a complete v8 engine with everything needed for the conversion.

You have to work out what you want from the car as a whole first, then use that to make your choice as to how it will be powered.

Using a turbo set up you will be able to make more power than any normally aspirated v8.

Again, how much power do you want? How do you want it delivered? What do you plan on doing with the car? How reliable must it be? How much do you want to spend?
