can anyone tell me if the front wishbone bushes are different on different e30 models, as im getting mix info when i check compatibility on websites. i was under the impression that they're only different if its an e30 with air con

Nothing to do with air con. All e30s had the bush with the hole in the center (concentric) e30 m3s however had a off centred hole (eccentric) but the eccentric bush will fit all e30s and is a known upgrade. All 36s ones fit also.

As well as being eccentric, the M3 bush doesn't have voids in it, so has a much greater lifespan than the standard item.
Parts 'C' in your pic. can usefully be replaced by year 2000 Ford Mondeo estate rear axle ARB links, which are a direct replacement, but feature ball joints at each end, again increasing long term reliability.
